Storyteller Visit on Monday
On Monday, May 22nd, Simon Brooks and the Tuttle Library visited to share with us our second portion of the Clif Grant. The Clif grant was presented to both Antrim Elementary School and the town library for a continued community partnership. The goal is to put books in child's hands in order to promote reading. One often overlooked component to reading is writing and fostering our imagination. If we look at reading and writing as a form of art, in the same way we look at playing an instrument or creating wonderful masterpieces with paints, we can see the benefits of having a professional storyteller visit our students. The engagement was incredible and the laughs were plenty. Hopefully by now, you have seen the two books each child from pre-school to 4th grade was able to bring home. It was nearly 300 books that went home.

Memorial Day Program
Today while the 3rd and 4th graders visited the statehouse, our kindergarten through second grade participated in a Memorial Day program with guest speaker, Bob Edwards. He spoke to the students about the history of Memorial Day. We sang patriotic songs and heard Taps. It was a lovely ceremony to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
