Nominate a MVHS Teacher!
Interested in nominating a rockstar 🌟 teacher from Mountain View for Idaho State Teacher of the Year? Now is your chance!!!!
Nominations are now being accepted for our state's top teaching honor, Idaho Teacher of the Year! ANYONE can make a nomination, so please take a moment to nominate a special teacher! Make a nomination at sde.idaho.gov/toy
“Idaho is full of passionate, innovative teachers who inspire their students to dream and achieve,” says Superintendent Sherri Ybarra. “Choose a favorite teacher who has made a difference for you or your child, then send us a nomination. Public school teachers in all parts of Idaho, all subjects and grade levels are eligible for this honor.”
Nominations will be accepted through Monday, March 14. Last year, Idahoans nominated about 150 teachers.
Nominated teachers will be notified and will have until May 9 to apply for the honor. Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee, and the winning teacher will be announced in September during a surprise visit to their school.
The 2023 Teacher of the Year will receive a cash award and travel across Idaho talking with other teachers, legislators and policymakers about education in our state. She or he will serve as Idaho’s nominee for National Teacher of the Year.
This school year’s Idaho Teacher of the Year is Todd Knight, who teaches science, engineering and coding classes at Crossroads Middle School, a West Ada School District “school of choice” for students who may struggle in large traditional schools. Other recent winners include: 2021 Teacher of the Year Jorge Pullerio, then a dual-immersion Spanish Language Arts teacher at Wood River Middle School; 2020 Teacher of the Year Stacie Lawler, a health and physical education teacher at Timberlake Junior High School ; 2019 winner Marc Beitia, an American Falls High School agriculture instructor and FFA advisor; and Vision Charter School chemistry and language arts teacher Becky Mitchell, Teacher of the Year for 2018.
February Tireless Teacher
Sarah Bianchi won February's Tireless teacher award. I have attached her photo along with some of the statements that students submitted about her for you guys to use in Newsletters and updates as you wish. Thanks for all you guys do!
She always gives really interactive and fun lessons and she really cares
She is always willing to help her students in every way she can
Because amazing over all super kind and helps everyone
She makes every class fun and is very good at explaining things so everyone can understand. She is inclusive and will do her best to help her students when needed.
Once again Ms. Bianchi deserves the world. However, this week her dog went into a surgery. I think it would be really nice if she won this months tireless teacher.

NC- No Credit- What does that mean?
If so, this just indicates your student needs to finish serving lunch detention to take care of their unserved tardies. Students with NCs should serve off tardies by the end of February if they wish to receive credit for the class. NCs will be put into PowerSchool next week.
Once detentions are served, the NC will be removed.
