Science TEKS Streamline
The draft recommendations of the science TEKS streamlining committees can be found by clicking here.
Informal feedback will be accepted in response to the draft recommendations through December 16, 2016.
Comments on the draft recommendations will help to inform the streamlining committee's final recommendations. If you provide specific comments and recommendations for any of the student expectations, please identify the grade level and the specific student expectation number that is included in the draft recommendations document. (For example, grade 1 (1)(A))
You may submit your comments to TEA at teks@tea.texas.gov. Please indicate “Science TEKS Streamlining” in the subject line.
Hazard Communication Standard: Safety Data Sheets
The Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) (29 CFR 1910.1200(g)), revised in 2012, requires that the chemical manufacturer, distributor, or importer provide Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) (formerly MSDSs or Material Safety Data Sheets) for each hazardous chemical to downstream users to communicate information on these hazards. The information contained in the SDS is largely the same as the MSDS, except now the SDSs are required to be presented in a consistent user-friendly, 16-section format.
Here are some links where you can find and print SDS for your classroom and chemical storage closets.
