Jackrabbits - From the Ground Up
Week of September 18 - September 23, 2022
From the Office of Principal Miranda
Greetings Jackrabbits Learning Community,
Hello fall Season!
This marks week eight of our first nine-week period. We are approximately 10 school days from the beginning of the first intersession. Please note this is a very important time of the year for students identified in need of accelerated instruction and intervention. By now the majority of our students who are asked to come in during the first week of October have received parent permission for tutoring. I encourage our parents and guardians to keep an eye out for these invites. If you have received a possible loss of credit letter due to excessive absences, Please be in close communication with your child(ren's) teacher to make up instructional time.
Transportation will be provided for after school tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning this week. This service is for those scholars who qualify for transportation. Buses will also be provided during fall intersession Also happy to announce that breakfast will be provided to students attending intersession. Breakfast will be free for all students.
Intersession Dates: Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria from 7:30- 8 a.m. Together we can help push the academic needle forward for our scholars. Exciting daily intersession dress attire/ themes will be announced by next week.

Attendance Incentives
Free Dress Pass will be given to scholars with perfect attendance from Monday through Friday. We are honoring free dress pass tomorrow, Monday 9/19.
This week we will be rewarding last week's class with the best attendance rate with a pizza party. The winning class will be announced during Tuesday's morning announcements. Perfect attendance ALL year will earn a coveted Ben Narbuth, Perfect Attendance Trophy!
House Bill 3 keeps us accountable for students' absences. It is important that parents submit a doctor's note or personal note for every day a scholar is out of school. Please email these notes to our Attendance, Specialist to: attendancebennarbuth@sisd.net
Daily attendance and all day attendance is vital to students' academic and social and emotional success. If students are not feeling well health wise, it is imperative they stay home to keep themselves and others around them safe. When students are not ill, they should be in school. The goal at the elementary level is that our students have a daily school attendance rate of 97% or higher. Together we can all make a difference.
