A Week of Performance!
At this moment in time I find myself in the same state that I have found myself in on more than one occasion this week--at a loss for words that do our kids justice. Starting Tuesday night with our musical theater club's performance of Annie and concluding with last night's version of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, I have been blown away by what 9, 10, 11 and sometimes 12 year old kids can do when given wonderful leadership and direction. A huge thanks to our directors and staff who played such a huge role in providing this opportunity for our student performers and then the entire student body who was able to take in a theatrical performance on Thursday morning. So many of you chipped in and assisted with setting up, corralling kids, preparing sets, and then cleaning up this morning. Great job, all!
Annie!
Musical theater's cast of Annie. Way to go, Ms. Barnes and Mrs. Neal!
A Night at the Museum
A long overdue thanks to Mrs. Jenkins and Mrs. Bradley for the first annual "Night at the Museum" opportunity for our students to showcase their historical research. Great job!
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Great job, Mrs. Hoagland and Mr. and Mrs. Bradley!
Updates and Reminders
Quickly......
- When filling out your pre-summative worksheets in Talent Ed, please hit the "save and submit" button after reflecting on your goals. Once these have all been completed, Mr. Russell and I will finish our portion and we will set up summative meetings.
- A couple of reminders from last week's tornado drill: 1. when we have a drill, everyone participates (even if you don't have students at the time)! It is important that our students know that we take this seriously. Make sure we are also monitoring our kids during this time and avoid using cell phones. 2. Make sure doors are shut.
- Due to the threat of inclement weather on Monday, the 6th grade field trip has been rescheduled for Thursday. Thanks to Mrs. Alms for her leadership and organization.
- NWEA testing will take place in each classroom on Chromebooks and will immediately follow MAP testing. Mr. Russell will be sending out a schedule in the near future.
