PTO Out of Dress Day Days
On the second Thursday of each month, students in the "Big School" (PK-8) are allowed to come to school out-of-uniform. They bring in $3 per student with a $5 family cap or you can pay for the whole school year next week - $30 for one student or $50 for the whole family.
These funds are used to provide the various PTO programs during the school year.
You can find the Out of Dress guidelines in the handbook
Welcome Parents
Please note: there will be no child watch as this is a parent only event.
Also, this event is so teachers can let you know what your child will be learning over the course of the year. This is not a time to have a meeting with the teacher regarding your child. Those meetings can be set up for another time if needed.
The schedule is as follows:

6:00 -6:10 - Meet with Mrs. Veilleux in the gymnasium
6:15-6:35 - Meet in classroom to hear about curriculum
Grader 4 and 5:

Design Squad
Design Squad introduces students to the concepts of engineering design and scientific inquiry. Past challenges include building circuits, designing kicking machines, and building wiggle bots! Groups of 4-5 students work with one volunteer adult to accomplish the tasks of the day.
This program is successful thanks to the dedication of our volunteers: parents, grandparents, alum, and teachers! If you are interested in volunteering, have ideas for projects, or would like more information about the program, please contact Mrs. Laura Pompei - our parent coordinator.
Design Squad is open to students in grades 3-8. Our Fall event is being planned for November 16, from 12-4pm here at SAS.

Birthday Celebrations
One of our favorite things to do is to celebrate our students' birthdays! Students can come to school out of uniform on their birthday (or for our summer birthdays - their HALF birthday).
Many students bring cupcakes to school to celebrate with their classmates. Have you thought about changing it up this year? There are also other non-sweet treats that students can bring to school to celebrate - Kids love popsicles, fruit, or even non food items such as stickers, pencils, dollar store goodies, etc.

Nurse Notes:
You can drop epi pens & inhalers off with correct paperwork anytime we are open for the nurse.
ALL students who will participate in a sport (Cross Country, Cheerleading, Basketball) MUST have a physical on file giving them permission to participate in sports. Students will not be allowed to practice until we have the appropriate physical on file.
Mrs. Katrina Couture is our school nurse. She works for the Leominster Department of Public Health and is at St. Anna School daily from 11:40-12:40. We are also fortunate to have retired nurse Mrs. Maryanne Capistrano volunteer in the health office daily as well.
Cool Kids Cash Club
This program will allow students to being banking at school. They will learn the importance of saving and will be able to make deposits into their savings account twice a month. This is an easy and terrific way to start saving NOW for middle school field trips! Each year the 6th graders attend Nature’s Classroom at a cost of around $600. The Washington DC trip is held every other year so your child would have the opportunity to attend DC as either a 7th or 8th grader. This trip costs around $1000. If you being saving NOW, as early as preschool or Kindergarten, your child could easily save enough money to cover both of these trips by the time they become a middle school student!
Students will also learn skills about keeping a savings account pass book and other financial skills that are necessary to become financially responsible adults.
Parents who are interested in having their child participate in this program, will need to open their child’s account at Fidelity and then on-going deposits can be made conveniently at school.
Please feel free to stop in at either Fidelity branch in Leominster to open your account. Please let them know it is for St. Anna’s Cool Cash Club and/or email and let me know you’ve opened an account for your child so I can let you know when banking at school will begin.
If you have questions about the program, please contact Ruby Vargas from Fidelity Bank at rvargas@fidelitybankonline.com or 978-353-2701
St. Anna's Women's Bible Study
Acts of The Apostles
Acts is the story of how a few Christians empowered by the Holy Spirit were chosen to bring Christ and the Good News to the ends of the earth. They faced secular forces, internal strife and hostile crowds, and despite all of this, they brought the kingdom of God to a broken world and the love of God to the hearts of all.
The study begins Friday, Sept. 13 and runs throughout the school year. We will meet in the Church Hall from 9-11 on Friday mornings when school is in session.
Please contact Pascale Traylor for registration information at mptraylor@gmail.com, or 978-870-7683

Homework Club //Tuesday-Thursday 3:15-4:30
Homework Club is back! 3:15-4:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays on full school days. Students will go to the supervising teacher's classroom to work on their homework. The teacher will help them if needed. Students will have access to their Chromebooks. Students can get picked up at 4:30 or go to extended care. Our intention is to give students a quiet space to do their homework after school. This will be beneficial to those that usually go to extended care and want to finish their homework before playing and for those that might need a little more support and structure to complete their homework. Students need to let their teacher know during attendance if they are staying after for homework club or let Mrs. Priddy know at lunch time.
We need to make sure everyone has a ride home. Students who are signed up to go to Homework Club need to STAY at homework club until their ride arrives unless they are also signed up to go to Extended Care following Homework Club.
