Sir Read-a-Lot's Castle (Fall Theme for Scholastic Book Fair 2014)
Students enjoyed a Fairy tale Frolic Family Night Event during the 2014 Fall Book Fair. Readers dressed as fairy tale characters from Traditional Literature based on our current genre-based reading program. Library Circulation is up by more than 5,000 books for the same time period last year. Our circulation statistics show just how much more we've grown as readers this year!
2nd Graders lead the Readers Are Leaders Challenge
They have earned 364 Genre Tags!
Six 3rd Graders in Mrs. Dodd's Class Lead the Way
They have earned all 9 tags and are working on reading through the genres for the second time. (The school-wide goal was each student reading through the genres during the school year.) A total of 194 tags have been earned so far this year.
4th Graders Take on the Reading Challenge
They have earned 197 Tags total.
5th Graders Earn 159 Genre Tags

While Fantasy and Realistic Fiction top the charts, it is noteworthy to mention that students read more Biographies and Poetry than ever before.
