Individual spring pictures were sent home earlier in the week with instructions and cost information included in your packet. You have the opportunity to purchase individual sheets or the entire package. You are only required to pay for what you decide to keep and we ask that you please return the rest. Carlisle Family,
Just wanted to wish you a farewell and let you know how much I have enjoyed serving you and your children the past 4 years. I am originally from Texarkana and my husband and I will be moving back to be closer to family. I have accepted a job with a small school district there. I’ve enjoyed my time here at Carlisle and appreciate everyone making me feel welcome. This is not goodbye but will see you later.

Take a Taste Tuesday
This week marked the last week for Take a Taste Tuesday. The final two classes, Mrs. Cartwright’s and Mrs. Polze’s classes got a special treat today. To reward their patience for waiting all of these weeks for their turn, they got to enjoy a watermelon party. What better way to usher in spring than with a fruit that screams WARM WEATHER! It turns out that watermelon is a very healthy choice. It is 92% water and is high in vitamins A, B6 and C. It is also a good source of antioxidants and amino acids. There are only 46 calories in a cup of cubed watermelon. Just about everyone has tried watermelon before and it was thumbs up from the crowd on the tasty watermelon. When Nurse Grace was little it was common to put salt all over the watermelon, but honestly, what tastes better than plain fresh watermelon – and who needs all of that extra salt anyway.
Watermelon tastes great in smoothies and salads. Here is a link to some information about why watermelon is so good for you: http://whatthafact.com/nutrition-facts-of-watermelon/

4th Grade Art Project
The Carlisle PTA is very excited to announce that local artist, Kristen Penrod, is coming to Carlisle to help our 4th graders create three amazing and unique pieces of art representing themselves and their activities that will be available for auction during the Spring Carnival on April 22nd. Kristen's work has been featured in the Plano Profile magazine and she recently won an award for her 3D artwork at the Plano 125 art exhibition. She also has created a video that was chosen for competition later this year. Her daughter attends Carlisle and she has generously volunteered her time and supplies.
We've worked out the dates and times for Kristen to meet with our 4th graders and help them create this fun and unique art!
Renee Miller has graciously agreed to welcome the kids into her art room during her planning period (their recess) AND her time with them twice a week for the next 2-3 weeks.
The dates we have for this project so far are as follows:
Monday, March 27 11:30 - 12:50
Thursday, March 30 11:30 - 12:50
Monday, April 3 11:30 - 12:50
Thursday April 6 11:30 - 12:50
