Students have spent the first few weeks of 8th grade learning about the Design Thinking Model which goes along with the State of Missouri's revised learning standards for Science. The new standards include more objectives centered around problem solving and engineering. The students' first assignment was to design a product that would help ease students' concerns about transitioning into middle school. There were quite a few creative solutions including locker caddies to organize materials, pencil pouches or dispensers to keep track of pencils, video introductions to staff members and websites featuring Barry School trends. Check out some of the prototypes below! Next week we will begin our Chemistry Unit.
