President Grant's army is in charge.
President Grant put his armies in charge instead of goverment agents. Some Native Americans registered at the agencies. Some of the Nathive American's based their camps in canyons and valleys. There 1,200 warriors were ready to defend their land.
The Red River campaign's First battle
Thr first battle took place in August of 1874. An army of 3,000 moved to the camps. The Name of the battle was Red River campaign. For one more year they didnt stop looking for native american camps. The Texas Rangers also fought. Major John B. Jones was a veteran of the Rangers. He protected the west line with his troops.
