A Note from the Principal
As we begin to wind down this school year, I want to inform you about our staff members who are not returning next year. Mrs. Diana Kirkpatrick is headed out west to join her husband in Montana. Ms. Jen Sherman has accepted a position as an Intervention Specialist and is excited about her new career opportunity. Mrs. Sheila Whitford is leaving academia to begin selling real estate. Mrs. Jill Mengal is looking forward to being a "hockey mom" and spending more time with her parents. The nurse, Andrea Zimmer, is moving on to a new school, making way for Mrs. Jean Januzzi to rejoin the staff. Mrs. Emily Royski joins her husband's school as a music teacher. Finally, Mrs. Kathy Tollett departs from St. Jude; as a seasoned teacher, she taught primary, intermediate, and junior high during her tenure. We will miss all of you and wish you the best of luck in all your new endeavors. The administrative team has been busy interviewing potential candidates, and information about our new additions will be coming in the next several weeks.
Faithfully,
Mrs. Hibler

Upcoming Band Concert Information
The Band Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00 pm in the pavilion. Bring your favorite lawn chair, relax, and listen to Beginning and Concert Bands perform. We will celebrate the graduating 8th-grade students with their favorite songs through their time here at St. Jude.
If the weather does not cooperate, we will hold the concert in the gym. Bring on the sunshine and nice weather!
Shadow Stride
We are excited to announce our Jaguar Shadow Stride 5k, and Fun Run is back for our 3rd year! The race will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Lorain County Community College on the road course! This year, we intend to donate all proceeds to The David Palcisko “D-Money” Scholarship Fund. The scholarship will help provide financial assistance for students at St. Jude, St. Edward, and North Ridgeville Schools.
David was an honor student and athlete of St. Jude and St. Edward High School, where he ran on their cross country and track teams. He was a gifted athlete and demonstrated great sportsmanship both on and off the field. Sadly, David passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2022. In tribute to his memory, this scholarship has been created through the Community West Foundation of Westlake, Ohio. (https://keeonsports.com/the-david-palcisko-d-money-scholarship-fund-created/).

A few items to note about the event:
- Given the shortness of the course and the potential shortage of carts for the event, we ask people to walk or use pull carts. We were able to accommodate everyone in a cart last year but wanted you to be aware that carts might be an issue.
- The format will be a team scramble: all players tee off, then all hit/putt according to the best shot.
- Prize money will be paid for team-low scores, skins, and closest-to-the-pins.
- We will have an individual hole-in-one 50/50 pot for anyone interested in participating at $10 per person.
- Drink tickets will be given and some other prize like a sleeve of golf balls.
- Registration should be paid at the course on the day of the event. Rainchecks will be issued if the weather calls for it.
St. Jude Summer Golf League!
The St. Jude adult golf league at Valley of the Eagles will take place on Wednesday evenings starting on May 18th, through September. Please let us know if you are interested in joining by filling out the Google Form at the bottom of this email. The league begins at 4:30pm every Wednesday night.
We are still fine-tuning some of the details, but it will most likely involve a competitive flight and a non-competitive flight. The cost will be $25.00 per week. We ask that everyone pay a month in advance, as is the policy of the course management. Should you miss a week that you already paid for, it will carry over to the next month’s fees. We will likely only do skins this year and not pin shots.
If you have friends or family that would like to play, please invite them!
Please fill out one form per participant.
If you have any further questions, please reach out to

Saint Ignatius
Saint Ignatius runs a youth camp for rising 8th-grade boys called the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP). We have about 25 spots remaining for this summer's edition of SEP. We've been hosting SEP for over 50 years now, and each summer, 400 boys choose to spend part of their summer with us. The camp features academics, athletics, breakfast and lunch, guest speakers, and the occasional field trip. The cost is $375 per camper (the price includes all meals).
