Viking Voice Parent Edition

First Marking Period Recap

Principal's Remarks

Welcome to the end of the 1st marking period. It has been a gift getting to know the students who spend so much of their time with us at Lansdowne High.

Many wonderful things have taken place this marking period. We have developed a new vision and mission for LHS. We held a successful Spirit Week, virtual pep rally and Homecoming weekend. We continue the LHS tradition of honoring the "Viking of the Month" and the "Most Improved Viking" each month. We have established multiple student support programs to assist students with their academics and engagement in school. Teachers and students continue to work together to establish relationships, build community and return to in-person learning.

Our team is looking forward to what the second marking period has to offer our students. These are some of the items that are currently on our calendars for the coming months:

  • American Education Week Celebrations
  • A visit from the Student Member of the School Board
  • Academic Achievement Reflection activities
  • Freshman Reflection Sessions
  • Registration for 2022-23 school year
  • Winter Spirit Week
  • Honor Roll Celebration

We look forward to what the second marking period has for us. I invite you to reach out with questions, accolades, or concerns at any time.

With gratitude,

Allison Seymour

Principal

"Do Great! Be Great!" - Our Victorious Vikings

The following students have been honored by their teachers for a variety of reasons during these first two months for Doing Great and Being Great. It could have been because they assisted a classmate, are making positive changes to their behaviors, or are focused on their academics - the reasons are endless. During the week, we acknowledge these students and the reason their teacher believes they are a "Victorious Viking" on our morning announcements.
