Traffic and Transportation Reminders
Dear Cimarron Community,
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! Thanks for a great start! Please take a moment to review the traffic/transportation information below:
Morning and Afternoon Traffic;
The crosswalks and traffic instructions are marked with signs, please refer to them in regard to traffic protocol.
Students who are walking to school need to use designated crossing areas with crossing guards or crosswalks. Bikes can be locked up at the bike racks on the north side of the school and scooters can be stored in the school by the commons.
Parents driving students to school;
Please no double turns from Canterberry Parkway into CiMS lot. Only the right lane may turn right.
The only dropoff option is by coming through the traffic loop at the front of the building. Once in the traffic loop, please drop off students in the marked zones.
The bus loop parking lot is not to be used for student drop off and pick up. For student safety, cars are not allowed in the bus loop unless approved for medical reasons.
When dropping off and picking up students, please pull forward as far as possible and fill all empty spaces. This allows for a more efficient flow of traffic and supports speed and safety.
Make sure students get out as soon as the car stops, do not wait until you are close to the building.
Staff members are at key locations to help students and direct traffic. Please follow their instructions.
Dropping students off in the parking lot is a hazard as students are walking unsupervised through moving traffic. Please stay in line in traffic and drop students in the designated drop zones.
Do not drop off on any street and do not conduct a U-turn on Hopewell across from the school.
Do not park in crosswalks. Please stay alert and off cell phones in school zones.
Transportation;
All transportation-related questions should go through the district transportation department at 303-387-0415, press 3 for the Parker Terminal.
Students will not be allowed to ride the bus home with a friend.
Students must abide by the code of conduct just like within school hours, bus privileges can be revoked if they are not able to do so.
Thank you all for your support in these areas as we work together in an effort to get students in safely and efficiently. We look forward to a great school year!
