School Supplies for 2022-2023

We want to say Thank you to the families who have paid for school supplies.

If you haven't yet paid, please feel free to send in cash or a check to the school office. We will also be collecting money by check, cash, or card at the Back To School Night.

You can follow the instructions below to pay online.

Step by Step Instructions for Online Payment System.
We understand that some families are not able to afford the cost of supplies. Some families may be in the position to make an extra donation towards helping others. All children will receive the same supplies, regardless if they are able to contribute towards the cost. If you would like to help, please click on the “Donations” tab that appears on your child’s grade level page. Thank you!

Return Chromebooks and iPads

We are missing Chromebooks and iPads and chargers. If your student had a BSD iPad and charger or BSD Chromebook and charger at home to use for Temporary Learning or FLEX online, please make sure you return them to school. Even if your student received the devices from another school such as FLEX, please bring the devices to Bethany.

Our IT department thanks you!

Important Crosswalk Information

Thank you to all of our families who are walking to school. It really helps with the parking lot in the morning and afternoon.

For the safety of our students, we are asking everyone who is crossing 174th:

  • Please wait for the crossing guard to instruct you on when to cross. After the crossing guard pushes the button, some cars may not stop, even with the lights flashing. The Crossing Guards will walk to the middle of the road and then motion for you to cross.

Don't Cross the Parking Lot Driveway

Please try to avoid using the crosswalk across the driveway, as it is very dangerous with all of the cars. We only have one crossing guard, so they can't watch both 174th and the entrance to the parking lot. There is a way to walk through the neighborhood and come out by the portables safely.

Volunteer Training at Bethany

It has been a few years since we were able to have volunteers in our building. We will be having Volunteer training on the following dates and recommend new volunteers and anyone who wants a refresher to join us.

  • September 19th, 9:00 - 10:00am
  • September 20, 1:15 - 2:15pm

We are hoping to welcome more volunteers this year. We encourage you to fill out the background check now, so that you are ready this fall if and when the teachers are needing help.

All new volunteers need to first complete an application and background check to create a profile in the system in the district-wide Volunteer Management System (myimpactpage.com). Once a profile is created, volunteers will be able to update personal information, view and sign-up for open volunteer needs, and communicate directly with the school Volunteer Coordinator.

IMPORTANT: All volunteers must provide proof of vaccination or complete a medical or religious exemption to volunteer in any K-12 school. As part of the volunteer application process, you'll be asked to upload your vaccination card or an exemption form.

Volunteers are an important part of Bethany.

Meet the Worsham Family

Big picture
Hello! We are the Worsham family and our son Julian will be in 2nd Grade this year at

Bethany Elementary.

You might notice Julian is quite a bit smaller than the average 7 year old and that’s
because he has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia. Simply put, Julian’s bones
grow much slower than the average child. He is just like his 7-8 year-old peers in every
way, except he’s just small, that’s all!

We have learned so much about achondroplasia since having Julian and we know
sometimes children can be very curious and that is ok. There are no dumb questions and
we would love to answer any that you or your child might have.

Parent Awareness Night Virtual Event

On October 19, 2022, Our school Social Worker, Michelle Schimpke, (who we share with Rock Creek) will be hosting a virtual Parent Awareness night from 7pm-8pm (Zoom link information will be sent out closer to the event).

The first topic will be: How to have difficult conversations with your child and how to help them handle BIG emotions. Please come with your questions!

Cannot make it, but are bummed about it?! No worries! Michelle will record the training and will provide the YouTube link following the event. Please message or email Michelle Schimpke with any questions or concerns. We look forward to “seeing” you all then!

2022-2023 Meal Benefits

EVERY family needs to apply if they want Meal Benefits for 2022-2023.

  • The free meal program has ended. Income guidelines have risen significantly.

For example, a family of four can have a total household income of up to $83,249 and qualify for meal benefits!

  1. Meal benefits application can be done online on our app SCHOOL CAFE, an account will need to be set up.
  2. Make sure to apply during summer since applications from last year are expiring at the end of June.

Please consider applying if you feel your family may qualify. It is confidential, school staff have no way of knowing which students have benefits and which do not. We highly recommend families applying.
