iPad Tip Of The Week: Switching between apps
Current versions of IOS (6 and 7) allow for app switching which means that your apps will save their current state in memory and you can return to them. This is much like having multiple windows open on a Mac or PC, but you can only view one app at a time. To switch to a recently opened app, double tap the home button to access the app switcher. Swipe left or right to view apps and tap to open.
RTI both at the grade level and at the school level continues as the new year begins. Please remember that any student receiving an "F" or that has had 8 or more referrals should be going through the RTI process. Please refer to the step-by-step directions for grade level RTI posted in the data room. Student success = our success. RTI is not an option. Any questions concerning RTI should be directed to me via email.
Guided reading should be happening during Every Bulldog R.E.A.D.S time. This time can produce some of most impact on student learning which will propel student understanding and comprehension. Get ready to use the newly updated Leveled Reader Library to your advantage. Ms. Jackson and Ms. Stockton are working hard to finish the Library and could use your help! The task of labeling and copying each activity card is laborious and there are over 1000 titles in the library. If you would like to help please let either of them know. I ask that we all be respectful of the limited resources and pledge to use the Library with care. Please check-out the books you take and return them to the correct bins.
WIDA Testing: Begins this month. I will give an update as soon as I have a schedule completed
Continue to focus on the components of gradual release in your lessons, particularly on the focus of your lesson. What do you want them to learn? How do you model this for students? How do you allow them to practice what you are teaching? How do you know they are getting it??
Round 2 of the evidence upload is due by January 4, 2015. This means you need two (2) more pieces of evidence for at least three (3) more indicators. Please make sure your evidence matches the indicator and rating you give yourself
