COVID-19 Website Update
Sunday 1 May 2022
Dear Families of Mary's Mount Primary School
Covid Operating Guidelines for Term 2 - actioned from Monday 2 May 2022
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
The Australian Health Protection Committee (AHPPC) encourages all students and staff who are well to attend school, including those with health conditions, unless COVID-19 positive.
CLOSE CONTACTS
Self Reporting test results
Families are asked to inform our school if your child tests positive for Covid-19 via the CEWA Covid-19 Self-Reporting Portal accessed here. Families are reminded to first report their child's positive RAT to WA Health, here.
Asymptomatic close contacts are not required to isolate but do have to follow testing requirements. Updated close contact information is available on the Healthy WA website.
SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
School activities during school hours, offsite and onsite, will promote and practice good hygiene principles.
The following activities can now take place without restriction:
- Choir rehearsals and performances
- whole school and year level assemblies
- sporting programs
- professional learning activities and conferences
- inter-school activities and workshops
- parents volunteering in class and during the school day
MMPS will continue to consider the COVID-19 Saftey Plan of third-party providers, to ensure continued risk mitigation.
HEALTH and HYGIENE
We will continue to follow and promote good hygiene practices like staying at home when sick or symptomatic, adults physically distancing themselves from other adults where possible, avoiding unnecessary physical greetings, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, washing hands regularly with soap and water or hand sanitiser and having fresh air and ventilated spaces where possible.
MASKS
The mask mandate no longer applies to staff and students in schools, however, staff and students are encouraged to wear a mask should they wish.
PARENTS AND CARERS
Parents and carers are permitted at school and in classrooms in order to:
- support school activities
- attend both year level and whole school assemblies and special school events
- drop off and pick up
- volunteer for support activities
- attend parent-teacher meetings
Although restrictions are easing, COVID-19 remains at high levels in the community and, for some of us, it is still a very anxious time. If you or your child need support, advice or assistance, please be in touch.
Wishing you all a safe and rewarding Term 2.
Warm regards
Emma Bell
Principal
