KINDERGARTEN: CLASS OF 2028

Kindergarten scholars are becoming password pros! SO many scholars can enter their whole username and password on their own without looking at their log-in card. Continue to help your child by allowing them to enter their own username and password at home. Check out how our classes are doing towards their goal of 100% on ST Math!

Performing Arts with Ms. Brodhead

In December, kindergarten scholars learned about a new composer named Tchaikovsky. We listened to his ballet music and watched The Nutcracker! Watch and listen at home by clicking here.


We are also learning music vocabulary that tells us the tempo, or speed, of music.


  • allegro means fast
  • moderato means medium
  • lento means slow


Next month, scholars will start composing with new notes called a half note!

Physical Education with Mr. Chartowich

In December, THRIVE scholars started their basketball unit. The main focus in the first half of December was dribbling. To end our December scholars have started to learn passing skills. When scholars return from break we will be finishing up passing skills and move on to shooting!

1st graders are making a ton of progress towards 100%! Each class has passed 20% and four scholars have worked SO hard that they are currently working on 2nd grade material! Keep encouraging your scholars to stay focused and working silently in Tech class, or have them log in at home! Check out how our classes are doing towards reaching 100%:

In December, scholars began drawing treble clefs and drawing high and low pitches!


Next month, 1st graders will continue reading, writing, and playing pitches on their xylophones!

This month, 2nd graders began plucking the pitches D and A on their violins! Scholars also started practicing for their Winter Musical, Stone Soup and composed their own songs.


In January, scholars will continue learning to play new music on their violins.

You can also ask your scholar about their Typing Club Rankings. Ask them how many stars they have earned. We are working on mastering levels 1-20 by getting 4 or more stars on each level. Remind your scholar to keep both hands on home row on the keyboard, keep their eyes on the screen, and trust their fingers!

Performing Arts with Ms. Brodhead

This month, 3rd graders began learning about Blues Music! Listen to one of our favorite blues musicians, Lead Belly, by clicking here! 3rd graders also began playing the pitches B, A, and G on the recorders and practiced their bows on violins.


In January, scholars will study jazz musicians and continue practicing their instruments!
