PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Only 8 school days until Thanksgiving Break! After that, we only have 18 school days left until Winter Break: 26 total school days left in the semester! Now is the time to check your kiddos’ Aeries Portal if you haven’t been doing so on a regular basis already. There’s still time to pull up those grades, but that time is running short. As a reminder, we have teacher-supervised intervention and support before school, at lunch, and after school nearly every day of the week. You don’t have to spend countless hours at the dinner table haggling over missing assignments; we just need you to direct your student to go to our on-campus interventions if they are assigned to do so. Working together, we can persuade these junior highers to take advantage of the support available to them. Please reach out to teachers directly and Cc your counselor with any questions or concerns.
I’ll be sending out my annual mid-year survey as we approach December. The purpose of this in-house survey is to get some real-time feedback about what we are doing well as a school and what still needs improvement. Please email me any questions you would like to see on that survey and I will do my best to incorporate them. As always, I will share the results of that survey, along with my analysis, in mid-January.
Respectfully,
David McKay

SCRIPT WRITING 101
Drama students are working on their Radio Plays by collaborating on a Google Doc and drafting a script using the Google AdOn: Screenplay Formatter! Students have spent time learning about the 1940’s Radio Play Era and coming up with unique plots for their original scripts, which include varying sound effects and voices. Stay tuned for performance times, which will take place the week of, November 12th – 16th.
ATTENTION, PARENTS:
We have received reports of some kids trying the salt and ice challenge outside of school time. Please check in with your students about the potential hazards of this activity.
