Academic Probation
Students on Academic Probation will be provided with extra supports designed to help them improve their grades, such as tutoring, mentoring and remediation. Academic Goals will be established which must be achieved by the conclusion of the School Year. Students on Academic Probation who do not meet those goals may not be permitted to return to STEM for the 2023-24 School Year.
Letters will be sent next week to Families of Students who are on Academic Probation and received one or more failing grades on their Quarter 3 Report Card.
Home Access Center
If you do not have your HAC set up yet, email Ms. Chanel Turner-Wright (cturnerwright@chesteruplandsd.org). She will reply with your username, password and a link to the log in page.
We encourage All Students and Families to check HAC every day!
SCHOOL SAFETY
Responding to Threats
The safety of our students while they are in our care will continue to be our top priority. While school was open on Thursday and Friday, we do understand the decisions made by some Families to keep their Students home.
While protecting the safety of Students, we cannot allow individuals to very easily disrupt the educational process. A young person can create a Social Media account, post a threatening message, then delete the new account in a matter of minutes.
We need our adolescents to understand that attempting to spread fear and chaos through Social Media will not result in getting days off from school. Instead, they will be found and face serious consequences for their actions.
Safety Practices
Additionally, we will continue monitoring Social Media and working with Law Enforcement to intervene and take appropriate action when necessary.
Reporting Safety Concerns
Keep in mind that the Pennsylvania Safe2Say hotline is available 24/7, and tips can be reported anonymously at any time.
