Leopard Spotlight!
Daisha Martin is our Leopard Spotlight award winner for 4.14.23! She does a great job and ensures our library runs smoothly. In addition to partnering with Ms. Emory to make our library a quality learning space, she goes the extra mile in many areas. For instance, she completes color printing, poster printing, and laminating for our entire staff. Please join us in congratulating her!
English I & II EOC Administration
Many of our students will be taking their End of Course (EOC) Exams next week:
- The English I EOC Exam primarily includes our 9th graders and will be administered on Wednesday, April 19th.
- The English II EOC Exam primarily includes our 10th graders and will be administered on Thursday, April 20th.
Both exams will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m. Testing room assignments will be posted in the Commons beginning on Friday, April 14th and will remain up until testing day so students know where to report.
Getting plenty of sleep and eating a good breakfast will be a great way to help your student be ready for these days. Thank you

Majestics Spring Show
Tickets for the Lovejoy Majestics Dance Team Spring Show are now on sale through the FineArts Box Office. We are so excited to share the talent of this team and this show with our Lovejoy community. As always, we are thankful for your continued love and unending support. This year the Majestics are celebrating our “Sweet 16”. Sixteen amazing years that would not have been possible without the Lovejoy community. Over the course of these years, this community has been a constant source of strength and encouragement as we have performed, competed, traveled, and much more. Sixteen years ago, “The Vision” for the Majestics Dance Team was created. We cannot wait to honor innovation, creation, tradition, and the history of our beloved organization with you. We hope you will join us as we celebrate 16 years of being Majestic!
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, seniors and children. Performance nights are April 13, 14 & 15, 2023 at the LHS Auditorium at 7:00pm.

Junior/Senior Prom
Don't forget to purchase tickets for the 2023 LHS Junior and Senior Prom. The price increases on April 17th. You can use the link or QR code below to purchase your tickets now.
If your student is bringing a visitor to Prom that does not attend Lovejoy High School, you will need to fill out this visitor form. The form needs to be signed by an administrator if the student attends another school or attach a photocopy of the visitor's driver's license if they are out of high school (but under 21). You will also need to fill out this digital form IN ADDITION to the form that needs to be filled out. These forms need to be turned into Ms. Martinez in the AP's office by April 6th.
If you happen to shop at Men's Wearhouse, just mention Lovejoy when placing your order and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to fund future campus activities.
AP Exams
AP Exams will take place the first two weeks of May. The exam schedule is posted here.

The cost for most AP exams is $97.00 per test. Capstone courses- AP Seminar and AP Research- are $145.00 each.

Parking at Lovejoy High School
Just a reminder, if you are a student driver and have not purchased a parking pass, please make sure to stop by the school store. All student drivers must have a pass to park at LHS. There should be no students parking in the front of the school. Thank you
Attendance Task Force Weekly Report
Attendance continues to be a top priority for Lovejoy ISD. It should come as no surprise that attendance has a direct relationship with student learning. Additionally, public school funding is provided by the State of Texas based on each district's average daily attendance (ADA).
Lovejoy has developed an Attendance Task Force consisting of staff, parents, and students to formulate ideas about how to positively impact ADA in our district. One suggestion is to update the community via weekly principal communication on the number of absences each campus has accrued YTD along with the budgetary impact of those absences. In order to assist students in staying on track or not fall further behind academically as a result of the pandemic, Collin College is offering a summer 2023 tuition and fee credit! This tuition and fee waiver will cover up to 6 credit hours for students graduating high school this spring (May/June) within the Collin College Service Area. Let us help you get back on track and move toward your college graduation goals!

Positive Behavior Traits: CITIZENSHIP (4th 9 weeks)
This year, the counseling department will be focusing on the four principal Positive Behavior Traits from the Texas Education Agency TEKS. Please use the slides linked below to review what citizenship looks like in a variety of ways for our Lovejoy Leopards. We encourage you to connect this with your family's expectations as well!

Current Lovejoy High School students will receive a total of three free transcripts per school year. Once a student has requested three transcripts, the cost will be $3 per additional electronic transcript.

Scholarships
The Parent-Teacher Organizations in the Lovejoy Independent School District each will award one $500 scholarship to a college bound senior graduating from Lovejoy High School in 2023. This centralized application means that each student completes the application ONCE, but is eligible for PTO scholarships through the Lovejoy schools they attended (plus the Lovejoy Council and Preschool PTO).
All student applicants (a) must have attended LHS during their sophomore, junior, and senior years; (b) be a member of the LHS Parent-Teacher-Student-Organization (PTSO); (c) complete the online scholarship application, including the essays; (d) upload a resume; and (e) have one letter of recommendation submitted.
To apply for the scholarship, students must complete the application by clicking on the link button below.
The form at the link will allow students to exit and return to the application in case they cannot complete it in one sitting.
