Student/Staff Break

October 3-7 is a student and staff break. There will be no classes and campuses will be closed. Enjoy your break!

Report Cards

Report Cards for grades K-5 will be posted in Home Access Center (HAC) on Friday, October 14th after 3PM. Report Cards will not be emailed or printed.


It is important that all student absences be reported to the school in a timely manner. Please use ONE of the following methods to report the absence.

- Complete the online absence form that can be found here.

If your student has visited a doctor while they were absent then please make sure to send in a signed/stamped doctors note within 48 hours of their return to school.

September Student of the Week

Kaylee Soliz has been selected as our September PE student of the month!!! Kaylee is a 4th grade student in Ms. Laygan's class. She is an excellent athlete who works very hard and displays great sportsmanship. Kaylee has a wonderful attitude and sets an amazing example for other students to follow. She is an absolute pleasure to have in class. Way to go Kaylee!!!

No Place for Hate

Groves Elementary is a No Place for Hate Designee campus. Our students and staff signed the Resolution of Respect in their classrooms last week during Hello Week. We invite parents to sign our virtual Resolution of Respect.

Book Fair is Coming!

It will start October 17th to October 28th. Students will shop during their library specials time/day. Family night is October 17th from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Remember, our Book Fair is CASHLESS. Only eWallet or credit cards are accepted. Please the GE Library webpage for all the information. Watch your child's folder after our break for more Book Fair details.

Food Delivery for Students

Just a reminder that students are not allowed food deliveries by outside vendors (Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc.) or directly from a restaurant. We welcome parents to drop off lunch in the front atrium. Thank you!

Lunch Schedule

See below for a link to the lunch schedule. This staggered lunch schedule will allow students to have more time to eat their meals without rushing.

Lunch Visitors

Lunch visitors will begin Tuesday, September 6.

You may sit at the tables in the hallway on main street, high tables, or outside at the picnic tables by the garden.

Students may not invite friends to sit with them and adults may only eat with their own child at the designated guest tables.

**Please be sure to bring proper identification to be checked in.

Birthday Treats

Please contact your child's teacher to set up dropping off of birthday treats. They can be dropped off at the front office. Please make sure it is a store bought item confirmed with your teacher in case of allergies. Individually wrapped is recommended. No goodie bags, gifts or balloons will be accepted. Ice cream can be purchased from the cafeteria. This must be done in advance and the form can be found on our website.

Credit by Exam

Below please find information regarding the Fall 2022 Credit By Exam for Acceleration registration and testing dates/deadlines. Additional communication will be sent out in January for spring testing registration.

Parents complete Credit By Examination Registration Form and give it to your student's Counselor before the desired testing window deadline.

Stacey's Sweets Fundraiser

We're teaming up with Stacey's Sweets for a Cookie Bomb Spirit Sale. Preorder at from 10/10 - 10/24 and we'll deliver to your student on 10/28. If you'd like to purchase cookies to treat some of the Groves staff and teachers, we'll deliver those too!

Party Fees

We are missing over 400 party fees and need these in order to start planning Please pay party fees between now and October12th. The grade that has the most fees collected will get popsicles!! For families new to the Groves, each class will participate in seasonal parties in their classrooms. We do not ask for donations of food, drinks, crafts, games or prizes at party time...instead we ask parents to contribute $15 per child at the beginning of the year and let room parents do the rest! 2022 Halloween Extravaganza

Save the date for our 1st Annual Halloween Extravaganza on Friday, October 21st from 6-9 pm. We will open up registration for trunk or treat time slots on Monday, October 10th at 7 pm. While time slots are required for trunk or treating, you're welcome to visit the food and dessert trucks and our spooky tunnel at any time! This is a free event for all Groves students and their siblings, but to help us out, we'll be collecting candy donations October 10th to the 21st during morning drop off from 7:30 to 8 am.

Theater Program Interest Form

We are thrilled to announce that Groves After School Theatre will be coming back!!!! This year Groves Theatre will be open to ALL grades and we count be more excited! If your student is interested in participating in the Groves After School Theatre program, please fill out this interest form. The purpose of this form is simply to get an approximate count of how many students are interested in participating in theatre. This information will help determine how many days a week to offer theatre and the best way to divide students into groups.

Membership Dues

We are still collecting membership dues as well. The simple act of joining the PTO provides instant financial support for our students! It's also a great way to stay informed about what's happening at school while connecting with other parents in meaningful ways. If you pay both your dues AND party fees by October 12th, you will be eligible for a drawing to win a free spirit shop shirt and local gift card! Dues can be paid at

Spirit Sticks

Birthday Marquee

Daily Art Studio Helpers
