The Pawsome Print

June 21, 2022

Dear Pawsome Families,

I hope that everyone has a nice summer vacation full of fun and relaxation. Thanks for everything you have done for our Loring community this year.

I wanted to give a special thanks to our PTO Exec Team: Katie Riordan, Crystal Pike, Rachel Heckler, Dana Reese, Amy Kohen for being so thoughtful and supportive all year and a big shout out to Angela Lee and the entire team of yearbook parents for another AMAZING Loring yearbook. Our Loring community is truly the best!

I look forward to seeing many of you back in the fall, but for now, rest, recharge and have a PAWSOME Summer!!

The New Loring Garden

Last week, lead by Sam Childs and Lola Adams, Loring students voted on the name of our new Loring Garden. With 259 votes, it will now be known as "The Pawsome Patch". Also on Friday, the students went outside and planted their seeds and seedlings into the raised beds made by our very own Mrs. Nute and her husband. We are so excited for this to be a part of Loring for years to come. A big thank you to SERF for sponsoring this project as part of the student SERF grant initiative!!

Keep an eye on the Loring PTO Facebook page for a schedule to help tend the garden this summer.

We will miss our 5th Graders!

Fifth Graders!! What is there to say that has not been said over the last few weeks. You have shown us the true meaning of what it is to be Pawsome and we are so proud to have watched you grow for 6 years. We hope that you enjoyed being a Loring Leopard and always remember our Loring Pledge: Stay Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Kind, and Show Best Effort in wherever life takes you.

Make sure that when you are hanging by the pool, have your toes in the sand at the beach, or are having a down day on the couch you take some time to pick up a book!!

We will be welcoming some very Pawsome educators for next year and some staff will be returning in different roles. Once all hiring is completed, I will share this exciting news with our Loring community.

Want to Join Our Pawsome Community?

We will be looking for three crossing guards for next year. This is perfect for anyone who already walks their child to school. Now you can get paid for it. The time commitment is minimal and we would love for you to join our Pawsome Team!!

If you know of anyone interested in these positions, please send them our way!

School Supplies

School supply lists are included below. They will also be linked on the PTO website and our Loring School Website over the summer.

If you are unable to purchase school supplies for your child, we will make sure to have supplies available at school. Please reach out to Sara Harvey, David Gaita, or Karen Blumberg if you need assistance.

As a reminder, SMILE and Extended School Year program will take place at Loring this year. The best way to reach us over the summer is to email at and I will respond as soon as I can as I will be working throughout the summer.
