Happy Halloween!
Also, please remember our district has a policy on non-food celebrations. If you want to conduct a food activity with the students this week, it must be a healthy one. See pictures below for some ideas.
Extended Care students will conduct its 2nd annual visit to the District Offices. This tradition began last year with the DO's permission and invitation to see it's youngest learners! The tour will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Heat days...what it means for preschool
Licensing is required to visit our schools once per year unannounced. Our sites have NOT been visited this year. Sometimes event notifications, such as the heat day, reminds them we are due for a visit. Licensing will visit anytime between now and June.
Things Licensing looks for on visits:
- CCL will inquire how many students there are and may ask a staff member this question to ensure everyone knows how many students are present.
- Are all students signed in with a legible signature.
- Is a classroom teacher present (defined as someone with 12 ECE units therefore any staff with 12 ECE units meet this qualification when the lead teacher is out of the room) see ratios chart below.
- Will check on staffing qualifications and IMMUNIZATIONS!
- Scan for DANGEROUS materials present that could pose immediate danger; examples are tacks, push pins, adult scissors, outlets uncovered, standing water left uncovered, chemical bottle within a students reach, purses or personal items left out, coffee or hot drinks easily accessible to students, and trash can lids sealed.
- Are students being supervised appropriately. NOTE: Be mindful with outside playground supervision and side conversations. Injuries can happen quickly and may be preventable if noticed. Please make sure your eyes are constantly scanning the playground.
We will do great when Licensing comes! Please feel free to ask any questions about CCL laws and regulations. All regulations are publicly available by searching for Title 22, Department of Social Services, California. Areas of deficiency found in a preschool classroom are cited and made known to the school board of education and superintendent. If you would like to view the most Common Deficiencies found in classrooms, click on the link provided under ratio chart.
*Tile 22 regulations are for ALL PRESCHOOL classrooms
*Tile 5 regulations apply to State Funded Preschool classrooms and supersedes Title 22

“The only lifelong, reliable motivations are those that come from within, and one of the strongest of those is the joy and pride that grow from knowing that you’ve just done something as well as you can do it.” -- Lloyd Dobens and Clare Crawford-Mason
