There’s still time to donate your items (big and small) to our annual Rummage Sale. But also, please spread the word to as many of your friends and family as possible about Friday and Saturday’s Rummage sale in the Fellowship Hall. Both days start at 8 am. This is a large fundraiser for our men’s and women’s groups. Call Sherry Whitcomb (979-885-7828), Etta Mae Himly (979-885-2666) or the church office (979-885-2223). Need help getting your donations to us? Please call James Schroeder at 979-887-5691.

This Sunday, March 15: 4th Week of Lent

We continue our Lenten Sermon Series: Becoming Living Echoes of Jesus Christ. These 40 days of Lent, will teach us to live the way of Jesus, ultimately motivating and equipping us “to go into the world sharing the Gospel.” Becoming “an echo of God's love” is our absolute goal … and we should be committed to getting there … as God enables us on the journey.

Pastor Curtis heads to Colonial Belle after the 10 am service. On the third Sunday of each month, he and members of our Caring Ministry hold a worship service with Holy Communion for the residents.

Honor or remember someone on Easter with a beautiful lily in our sanctuary. Order forms are in the pews. Plants are just $10. For more information, see Margaret Warriner or the church office.

  • Palm Sunday, 10 am (ONE service only): Traditionally marks the beginning of Holy week. Recalling Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his journey to the cross.
  • Holy Thursday Service of Worship, at 6:30 pm – Remembering Christ’s final acts of love and servant hood and we gather at the table.
  • Good Friday – Traditionally a day of fasting, silence and prayer. You are encouraged to be mindful of this tradition as you go throughout your day.
  • Sunrise Service, Sunday at 7 am – Our very own Pastor Curtis deliver the sermon at this year’s 75th Annual Easter Sunrise Service in the Stephen F. Austin Historical Park. (The park is located next to the Brazos River Bridge on FM 1458 in San Felipe.) Since 1940 an Easter sunrise service has been held at the park, sponsored by our friends at San Felipe UMC. Ministers from San Felipe, Bellville, Pattison, Brookshire and other surrounding areas participate in this celebration. It is for all Christians. ALL are invited to attend this beautiful and moving worship service!
  • FUMC Easter Service, Sunday at 10 am – Celebrate the Good News of the empty tomb at FUMC Sealy. Plan now to bring cut flowers to flower our Easter Cross.

Around the Church:

Next week is Spring Break in Sealy. Our Mother’s Day Out will close for the week and office hours may vary. Thanks in advance for your flexibility!

The Staff Parish Relations Committee will me NEXT Wednesday, March 18, at 6pm in the conference room.

Last Saturday’s Church Workday was very productive! The morning was filled with work, fun and fellowship and went a long way in preparing to invite guests for the spring season. Trees were trimmed, rooms were organized, flower beds were wedded and raked, and historical items were sorted! Thanks to all who worked hard and gave their time.
