West Genesee is Conducting a Facilities Study
The District’s Strategic Planning Team has begun working with our consultants to review many facets of the District’s operations. The purpose of the study is to evaluate this essential question:
“How can the District maintain and enhance the educational opportunities for West Genesee students in its tradition of excellence while continuing to ensure efficient and effective utilization of staff and facilities as well as fiscal responsibility for the District’s taxpayers?”
The team has begun meeting monthly and the meetings are open to the public. There is an opportunity for the public to ask questions at the end of each meeting.
Please visit our Facilities Study website on the Strategic Planning webpage. for meeting dates, agendas, meeting notes, and links to livestreams (if we are required to meet digitally).
Transitioning to a New Communication System on July 1
As we transition, we will be keeping the Mobile App from Blackboard for the upcoming year and will continue to push out notifications to people that have the app on their phone. The calendars, news, directory and other current information will continue to feed to the mobile app.
The week of June 22, we will be testing the new system and you may receive a few emails from both the new system and the current system. This will help us verify that information from the new system is not going to your spam/junk folders.
Please be on the lookout for more information as we roll out the new system and you can send any questions about the transition to publications@westgenesee.org.

Wildcats Celebrate Today's Heroes
The West Genesee Class of 2020 is paying an admirable tribute to the first responders who have been at the heart of treating patients with COVID-19. This will take shape in a message that will begin appearing on the electronic billboard at Township 5 beginning today, Thursday, June 18 through June 24.
The images are of graduates in caps and gowns, and medical personal in full PPE. The message to all these medical heroes?
“WE CAN WEAR OUR CAPS AND GOWNS,
BECAUSE YOU WORE YOURS.
THANK YOU
FROM THE CLASS OF 2020
WEST GENESEE"
This tribute image and message was created by artist, Julia Winfield, a 1983 graduate of West Genesse High School. Julia has an art and design business in Charlotte, NC, and has donated this piece to her alma mater, where she believes students are encouraged to value the accomplishments of others.
