Roosevelt Lost and Found
It is that time of year again. Now that the weather is turning colder students are coming to school with hats, gloves, coats and boots. Our lost and found area at Roosevelt continues to grow! Stop by and see if anything your student may be missing is in lost and found.
Holiday Gift Shop
Our 2nd Annual Holiday Shop is coming back by popular demand! Each student brought home a colored sheet detailing the Holiday Shop shopping experience. The Husky Holiday Shop will be held the week of December 9th-13th. Students will have 30 minutes to shop with their class, and will be assigned a “shopper’s assistant” to help them. Making this event festive and efficient is only possible with the help of our Roosevelt family of volunteers.
Happy Holidays!

Lego Robotics Team
Congratulations to our Roosevelt FLL teams “Roosevelt Brick Bosses” and “Husky Super Dabbers”. Both teams have qualified for the State Championship for FLL this upcoming weekend! The theme for Lego Robotics this year was “City Shapers”. Teams presented their project idea, completed robot missions with an EV3 robot, participated in a team building activities and shared how they followed the core values.
The Husky Super Dabbers decided to design a “playground for all” for their project, and focused on a lift system for playground structures. The lift system uses a 4 pulley system, connected to a battery that is charged by solar energy.
The team ran missions during the robot game including the architecture design and build, sustainability upgrades, push missions and innovative architecture model. “I am most proud of this team’s commitment to help each other, the team, and being gracious professionals to the teams that they met along the way. Several judges commented on how great the worked together as a team, and that they had a firm understanding of what Gracious Professionalism means.” said Coach Chris.
The Roosevelt Brick Bosses created an information kiosk called “City ID” that could be placed in any city for easy access to maps, a charging station, souvenirs and even fresh water for pets! Their innovative solution also included solar energy.
The team’s completed missions included architecture design, crane, swing and they even had their robot end on the bridge! “Team strength was Teamwork! Our team excelled at working together and they took great pride in working together in all phases of the project, robot design, core values, and game strategy. Each team member played a role in all phases and they did a great job of working together. I enjoyed coaching the Roosevelt Brick Bosses this year because of all of the growth that we were able to see in each of the students. I enjoyed watching them rise to the occasion at the qualifier and really come together as one team” said Coach Brian.
Way to go Husky’s! We are so proud of you and with you the best of luck at your tournament!

Watch D.O.G.S.
The Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program has been a huge success. We had 170 men attend our Pizza Launch Night event. We started the program in the building last month and we cannot thank you enough for your support. Students, staff, and dads have been raving about how much the men are help positively build our school culture. The men volunteer in various capacities in the building: assisting with arrival and dismissal, volunteering in classrooms, and supporting the students during lunch and recess. If you are interested in being a part of the amazing program, please contact Jennifer Graham at Jennifer.Graham@wbsd.org. We would love your help!
