UPCOMING BOULDER UNIVERSAL EVENTS
OCTOBER & NOVEMBER
PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 3-7pm. Stop by Portable 4 to connect with Boulder Universal mentors, counselors, administrators and several of our high school teachers. Staff will be available to answer questions, discuss concerns, brainstorm ideas and discuss future planning.
BOULDER UNIVERSAL FITNESS HIKES
EVERY TUESDAY, 10:30am. Meet outside the BU lab for a walk with your BU mentors. If you are taking a BU PE course this semester, count this as one of your workouts for the week!
OCTOBER COUNT
October count runs from October Wednesday, September 28 through Wednesday , October 12. It is crucial that ALL students are logging in and submitting work regularly during this time. Our biggest need is for students to log in for at least FIVE MINUTES and turn in at least ONE ASSIGNMENT on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1. Parents, please help us out by encouraging your students to spend time in their online courses on Wednesday.
MOVIE NIGHT - HARRY POTTER and the PRISONER of AZKABAN
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 13, 5-8pm at the Boulder Universal lab. This will be our second movie night of the year. Chances are you've seen it, but just in case, you can find information, including all parent advisory info, here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0304141/. We'll have pizza, salad, cookies, popcorn, drinks. And....TRIVIA! Some people find this one a little scary, so be aware of that if you choose to come.
CYBER SENIORS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Looking for students who are interested in working with seniors to help them learn about technology. If you think you might be interested, or think your child might be interested, please contact your mentor. We're gathering names and will update interested students as we know more about this opportunity.
WRITING GROUP
Looking for experienced and/or aspiring writers to meet weekly. The focus will be on journal writing, freewriting, and poetry. Contact your mentor if you'd like to be a part of a Boulder Universal writing community.
SAFE ZONE
Our online Safe Zone is a place for GLBTQ students and allies to connect online to discuss issues and share resources. Let your mentor know if you'd like to join and we can add you to the group. We're just getting started this year and looking for ways to expand what we do.
