Personal Growth and Development Groups
Our goal with these groups is to support the unique needs of our gifted learners in a more personalized way. Be sure to ask your child how the discussions are going. We hope the information we are providing will help normalize some of the common traits of gifted kids and that the coping strategies we are suggesting will be helpful in their lives outside of school as well.

PEAK Curriculum
Theme:
Over the next few weeks, 4th and 5th graders will begin to organize and synthesize their notes to prepare for writing. Students will be learning to write an editorial.
Math:
Our next math unit is quickly approaching. This time around, students will choose from:
- Competition
- Geometry or Algebra, depending on the day your child attends
- Real World Math (problem solving)
We can't wait to see what the kids select!
Independent Investigation:
Students are still working on applying research skills from theme to their Independent Investigation topics. Once they have enough information to become "experts" on their topics, they'll begin brainstorming projects to best showcase what they've learned.
Science:
In January, students tested one more experiment to test whether or not name brand products are worth the money compared to generic brands. We tested Scotch versus generic tape. After this experiment, students will draw conclusions about whether it is worth the money to buy brand name products. This requires deep, critical thinking!

Trifold
Please send a trifold by the end of February. Your child can bring his//her trifold on the PEAK bus. Please write your child's name on the back of the trifold. We will have 60 trifolds coming into PEAK and we want to make sure everyone gets to use the trifold he/she brought into class.
