We're Finishing the 3rd Nine Weeks?
Hard to Believe There Are Only 10 Weeks Left in the Year!
Friday Marks the End of the Nine Weeks
It feels like only yesterday we were back from the Christmas break! However, it is true, we are finishing up the third nine weeks this Friday. The snow has caused us to move our TFK quiz until Tuesday. We are going to have a ecosystems quiz on Friday morning. Our word study quiz is on Thursday morning. It will only be on the vocabulary for ecosystems. The focus is on the meaning of the words/terms and not their spelling (although it never hurts to be able to spell them correctly!) Your children are finishing up their personal narratives and I am incredibly pleased with their writing for this nine weeks. I have seen amazing growth across the board and this has turned into my strongest writing class in my time in the classroom!
One parent has already reached out about starting break a couple of days early. If your child is going to be out this week, please let me know so we can coordinate their work.
Friday is a HALF Day!
We are sending the students home at 11:30 on Friday. If you would like your child to get a lunch, please let me know in advance so we can have one prepared for them to take with them.
Jamestown Update
Thank you to everyone who has returned the permission slips for the trip. This is the most parent chaperone volunteers I have ever had for the trip. On Thursday morning we will draw names out of our bin to determine who will be the LUCKY parents to join us on our journey to Jamestown. As a reminder, there is no cost to you, only a portion of your sanity from the bus trip. In all seriousness, I too was the chaperone for Jamestown when my daughter took the trip. In fact, I was the only chaperone for the entire class! All of your expenses will be taken care of and you will have a lovely reserved seat on the charter bus!
