My Academic SMART Goal
S -
By the end of my Grade 12 year, I want to have a 90% average in all my subjects.
M -
To keep track of my progression and my performance in class, I will ask my teachers for regular mark-updates so I can be sure that I am adequately working towards my goal. If my teachers do not give mark updates then I will try to keep track of my grade by going through older assignments to manually calculate my mark. This way I can supervise my own marks so I can I make sure I don’t impede my own goals.
A -
I will try to proofread and edit all my assignments to insure they are all done to the best of my abilities as opposed to doing them last minute and facing the consequences via a bad mark. This is an important skill for me to develop because my lack of time management skills, which I consider to be one of my weaknesses, mean I cannot divide time very well into productive smaller tasks. I must also work on my grammar and punctuation because my academic voice in my writing is obstructed thanks to grammar and punctuation errors that plague my work at times.
R -
In the future, I would like to attend a respectable University and pursue an academic career in Sciences. To do this I will have to attain an average of 90% in all my subjects in Grade 12. As long as I continue to maintain my ambition for this goal throughout Grade 11 and 12, I will be able to complete my goal.
T -
I plan on achieving this goal by the end of my Grade 12 year. Since there is almost 2 years before then I will perform some smaller goals to complete will be critical to achieving my end goal. One smaller goal I will complete is making sure that my grade in Grade 10 average at least 80%, this way I can create a stronger base for when I go into grade 11 and 12 thus making it slightly easier.
My Volunteer SMART Goal

R -
Yes, this goal is very much doable in my opinion. I have already earned approximately 50 volunteer hours in my Grade 9 summer alone. If I decide to move at this rate with around 50 hours per year of highschool, then it is possible. In the future, possibly in Grade 12, I would like to apply for a job for the school year. To have a better chance at obtaining the job I want, I can list all the places and organizations I have volunteered at so I can demonstrate my experience and workmanship.
T -
I plan to complete this objective at the end of Grade 12. This means i have approximately 2 ½ years to complete this goal. Some smaller to do would be to get at least 25 volunteer hours in each month of the summer for all 3 summers left.

Injuries
Construction management jobs are highly sought after for their high job satisfaction and substantial salary. Though construction manager’s jobs don’t seem dangerous or hard, there are still several challenges they face on a daily basis. A challenge a construction manager may face on a consistent basis is the consistent possibility of injury whilst on the construction site. This possibility of injury can lead to broken limbs and bones, concussions and punctured organs. These injuries can in many cases prove fatal and can prevent you from working in the construction field for several years and thus should be avoided. Some simple solutions to this issue would be to take a safety in construction course to learn the dangers of your environment so you can hopefully avoid those dangers.

Stress
Furthermore, construction managers tend to work with a lot of people and manage all their responsibilities and times. This means that the construction manager has to manage not only his own schedule, but the the schedule of everyone around him also. This can lead to stress as if construction manager were to fail at managing one person’s time right, the entire project would be delayed. This kin of stress on a construction worker is not only detrimental to his mental health but also can impact how he does his job. To counter this, the construction manager should ask for help from the architect or other managers around him and split the tasks accordingly so they are manageable for all the project managers. Another way to counter this would be to consult your superior and ask for a smaller project and a smaller team so it is more manageable for you, and then work your way up from there. Doing this can both benefit your mental state and you work ethic.
