News and Notes

Dear Parents,

I hope you enjoyed your weekend, even though we lost an hour of sleep Saturday night. I sure saw a lot of sleepy faces this morning!

Please continue to keep the 2nd graders in your prayers as they receive their First Reconciliation. Congratulations to Alexa and Sofia who received this holy Sacrament this past Saturday.

Last Wednesday our 8th graders participated in a virtual Retreat, through the Archdiocese, in preparation for their Confirmation. Please keep the 8th graders in your prayers as they continue to prepare for their Confirmation on April 30th.

This Wednesday, March 17th, is St. Patrick's Day. To celebrate St Patrick's Day, your children are able to wear green and white dress down.

Thank you and have a wonderful week!

Ms. Kazan

Lenten Service Projects

Thank You for your generous donations for Texas. We raised $360 to support families in Texas who are still struggling after the catastrophic storm in February. We are partnering with a local school in San Antonio to provide food for families in need.

MARCH 25 - Charity Dress Down for HOPE Community Services - on Thursday, March 25, Transfiguration School we will be hosting a "Toiletries Drive" for the benefit of HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle, NY. Please bring in a toiletry item that day or a suggested $2.00 donation in exchange for a dress-down day. Participation is optional. School uniforms may be worn if you do not wish to participate.

Any day the Church doors are open, your donations of unopened packages may be left in the Green Bin just inside the Church door OR you may send them into school with your child.

Growth Mindset Thought of the Week

Grit and determination are a very important part of developing a growth mindset. Attached below is a good graphic to share with your child that explains grit. I have also attached a list of books that have an inspiring character who shows grit and resilience. The list has a variety of books for all ages. Some of my favorites are on this list, including The Little Engine that Could and Hatchet, two of my all time favorite books.
