Message from the Principal

Thank you for helping us to pledge to Celebrate Life by being Drug-Free! Staff and students had a great time this week participating in the activities that PTA had for us.

If you or a loved one are a veteran, we would like to honor you. Please complete the form that was sent home and turn it in by November 1st to reserve a spot.

Next Friday is the end of the first trimester and it will be a short 1:26 dismissal. Report cards will be available in your parent portal after school on November 14th.

Shortened Day ~ 1:26 pm dismissal ~ Friday, November 4, 2022

Next Friday, November 4, is a 1:26 pm dismissal day. Friday is the end of the first trimester and teachers will be preparing report cards. Monday, November 14, Report cards will be available after school to parents in the Parent Portal.

Meet kindergarten teacher Hillary Pedersen

Hello! I am Hillary Pedersen, a kindergarten teacher at Ernie Pyle. I have been working at Ernie Pyle since I first started teaching eight years ago. I spent the first six years teaching sixth grade and then decided to make the jump to kindergarten. I love being a primary teacher and seeing how our students absorb the learning with high energy and excitement. I am also the Technology Instructional Leader on campus and enjoy helping all of you have an easier time integrating technology into our teaching. When I am not at work, you can find me with my family- my husband and 4-year-old twins.

Free Virtual Parent Workshop in Spanish

Topic: “The Emotional and Mental Effects of the Pandemic on the Lives of Your Children”


Objective: Parents will learn to differentiate between bad behavior and deteriorating mental health in their teens/children. Children scream for belonging and significance through kind and firm parenting when misbehaving. In addition, parents will obtain practical tools to improve their self-care to better their parenting.


You are invited to this free parent class opportunity offered to Ernie Pyle families by Disciplina Positiva.

This Conference is a Monthly Complementary Parenting Training for our parents because we have a relationship with Disciplina Positiva.
