Life Of Lepidus
He was regarded or little worth by a number of ancient historians as weak and untrustworthy. In 36BC he attempted to raise Sicily in revolt against Octavian, but his soldiers ignored his cause. He was removed from even his great membership in the triumvirate, and, although he was allowed to remain apart of the group until his death, he was forced to retire from public life.
