Dr. Patricia Deklotz Dr. Patricia Deklotz is the keynote speaker and the feature workshop presenter. As Wisconsin's superintendent of the year, an iNACOL presenter, and Digital Promise micro-credential leader, Dr. Deklotz has paved the way for professional development change with teacher voice and choice. Dr. Deklotz will be speaking about the personalization of professional development and how that leads to more personalized learning in the classroom. She will also lead a strand on planning and building your own personalized professional development program via the inclusion of micro-credentials. | David Cole David Cole will be leading the Advanced Paper Circuitry strand that will focus on data literacy and programming complex circuits. David Cole is a NEXMAP presenter and the originator of CV2. He is a leader in the 21st Century Notebooking community and an internationally recognized leader in paper circuitry implementation and training. David will be joining us for a third year at the conference. His event includes a kit with everything you need to move forward! | Peggy Azuyak Peggy Azuyak will be leading the Conductive Materials For Any Content strand that will focus on exploring an array of conductive materials for building circuits for a second time. Peggy Azuyak is an AKTEACH presenter and has been helping to implement paper circuitry projects in Kodiak homeschool and KIBSD rural schools events. This event includes a kit with everything you need, you will be making a Quiet Book Page, and participating in a social painting and circuits event! |

Phil Johnson Phil will be leading a strand on AKTEACH UAS/UAV Piloting strand with Teresa Hedges, Gil DeGuzman, and Trevor Neff. Join Phil to meet UAV piloting challenges and advance your piloting skills. Join other educators from around the state in planning to further their own UAV/UAS programs and see how AKTEACH can support that program. | Teresa Hedges Teresa Hedges will be leading a strand on AKTEACH UAS/UAV Piloting strand with Phil Johnson, Gil DeGuzman, and Trevor Neff. Join Teresa to meet UAV piloting challenges and advance your piloting skills. Join other educators from around the state in planning to further their own UAV/UAS programs and see how AKTEACH can support that program. | Lisa Cavan Lisa Cavan will be leading the Instant Challenge Dayz Student/Mentor strand that will focus on guiding a student and adult team through a series of maker projects where the team members will work and learn together. Lisa Cavan is the AKTEACH statewide K-6 homeschool coordinator and has been leading this strand for two years. In this session, the student must be chaperoned by an adult for the entire event. The adult will be working with the student as a mentor and learning partner. |

Heather Staker Blended Learning Live with Heather Staker! Heather Staker is a co-author on the book Blended which has become a staple in the blended learning world. Recognized as an international authority on blended learning, Heather has presented at iNACOL, guided school districts around the nation to implement blended learning, and has developed a learning sequence that makes blended learning clear and accessible to all. Join Heather in her first visit to Alaska as she offers a 2-day, action-packed strand for educators to learn about blended learning and develop a program that fits for their classroom, school, or district. Heather Staker is the founder and president of Ready to Blend, a training and consulting firm to help educators use blended learning to improve the achievement and well-being of K-12 children. She is the co-author of the bestselling book Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools (San Francisco: Wiley, 2015), which she wrote as a senior research fellow for the Clayton Christensen Institute. She has appeared on radio and television and in legislative hearings nationwide as a spokesperson for student-centered learning. Heather is also the co-founder of Brain Chase Productions, which develops and produces online-learning adventure challenges disguised as worldwide treasure hunts for students in grades 1-8 during summer break and after school. Prior to these roles, Heather was a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, served for one year as the student member of the California State Board of Education during Governor Pete Wilson’s administration, taught U.S. history as a teaching fellow at Harvard College, founded a co-op preschool, and marketed Oil of Olay for Proctor & Gamble. She holds a BA magna cum laude in government from Harvard University and an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School. She is the mother of five children and lives in Austin, Texas. |
