News From the CMS_lmc
Back-to-School Edition
Welcome back
I have a really good feeling about this school year! I spent a lot of time this summer reading about what other middle schools are doing and learning about lots of new tools that we can use to enhance what we are already doing and now I'm anxious to get started. Please let me know if I can be of any help and keep the library media center and its resources in mind as you plan your lessons. I look forward to working with you and your students. Let's do this!
The "Genius" in the LMC
Please take a moment to check it out. I added a couple of posts over the summer, but I saved most of them to share now that we're back in session. I'll be posting about a lot of the new tools I've read about this summer and I'll be sharing suggestions I've come across for new things to try. You'll want to check in often.
A Few Upcoming Posts:

Computer Lab & Laptop Cart Sign-up Instructions
Our 2nd Annual Free-cycle event
Anything you see on the 3 carts inside the back door of the lmc, behind the "Start the year off on the right foot" display case, is available to a good home. Take what you want and please feel free to add your own "treasures".
If you need old magazines for your class, take them now. I will not be getting rid of any more until the end of the school year.
New Library Books
The books do no good sitting on the shelves. If you let me know what you are teaching, I would be glad to pull books on that topic for you to make available to the students in your classroom; or, I can display them in the lmc for students to check out or peruse in the lmc.
Book Covers
Book covers will be available in the lmc as long as they last. They are on the wooden book shelves in the center of the library, under the clock. We haven’t received new ones for the past couple of years, so the supply is limited. Before sending your students down to pick them up, please warn them that they are of the paper variety, not the stretchy material kind. That way expectations will be set accordingly and I will not have to look into their sad eyes, full of disappointment.
If you have ideas or suggestions for the LMC, please let me know!
