Thank You

Thank you for your kindness and overwhelming generosity this past week! You make us feel loved and truly appreciated. You are such supportive parents and you make our job so much easier.

Thank You :)

GCISD Book Challenge

Please visit this link to read a special newsletter from the GCISD Humanities Department. :)

Math Homework

Do you need some homework over the break? We will begin counting coins to 50 cents when we return. We will be using quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies. You can give your students some coins and let them practice determining the amount. In the past, quarters have shown to be the trickiest. :)

Star Student

Next week's Star Student will be: None...We will continue January 11th. :)

Monday: Send in 10-12 pictures for the students to share with the class.
Friday: Students will read a book aloud to the class and they may bring an item for Show and Tell.

Many students are in need of new headphones. Check with your student for their current needs. I have heard these make great Christmas gifts or even a treat for good behavior from those pesky little elves. :)

*I have noticed that the headphones that have an "L" shaped jack rather than a straight jack last longer. I think it keeps the tiny wires from breaking inside. Here is a link to an example. (The bottom jack is "L" shaped vs. the straight jack on top.)

Family Field Trip

We have spent the last week learning about Grapevine History. Did you know that many of the original buildings and structures still exist on Main St? This is the perfect time of year to take some family time and explore Downtown! Some of the buildings we have been studying are the Torian Log Cabin, Gazebo, Train Depot, Palace Theatre, and the Wallis Hotel (now the Convention Center).
