Ripon Cathedral School Update
Week ending Friday 29th September 2017
Sunny September
As we all know, it hasn't really been all that sunny this September! Which is why it was lovely to get out in the sunshine on Thursday. Here you see our Year 3 pupils starting to learn the basics of handball with our PE specialist Mr Biggs. He is also coaching them in team game tactics which are skills they can transfer to other sports.
Also enjoying the sunshine were our new nursery pupils. The changes we have made to nursery, so that we now offer full day and flexible sessions, have gone really smoothly and we love seeing so many children learning and playing all day long.
Although no one could spend the whole of Thursday afternoon out in the sun, pupils still enjoyed special times reading, writing and doing science experiments in their classrooms.
After so many exciting and adventurous educational visits at the start of the term, it's been good for us all to enjoy a week in school!

Wellies Please!
We will only continue the Daily Mile if it is safe to do so, but hope to have confirmed next week that the all weather track around the far side of the field will be installed over the half term break. The Friends, with all of your support, raised the amazing sum of £10,000 last school year, which should pay for the track and more! Please offer your support to the Friends this year too - information below.
