EPHS Counseling Newsletter
Week of September 2nd
Welcome Back Students and Families!
Hi students and families of EPHS! The counseling staff wanted to do something a little different this year and create a monthly newsletter that will update you on what is going on in the counseling department, as well as important events around the school and in the community. This is the first edition of our monthly newsletter, the EPHS Counseling Newsletter!
Student Resource Center Officially Open for Business
EPHS is excited to announce the opening of its new Student Resource Center (SRC)! Designed to offer support to students as they plan for their futures, the SRC is launching a variety of programming around both career and college exploration and readiness. Look for workshops on professionalism, leadership, applying to college, financial aid, scholarships, writing a resume and drafting a cover letter. Keep an eye out for an upcoming newsletter direct from the SRC with more detailed information and a calendar of events. Please contact Maren Bosley (Maren_Bosley@estesschools.org) with questions!
New School Counselor at EPHS
Hi everyone! My name is Chris Roland, or Mr. Roland, and I will be joining Kara McNamara as the other school counselor at EPHS for the incoming 2019-2020 year. I am really excited to meet all the students and their families. A little bit about me...I graduated from Colorado State University (Go Rams!) with a master's degree in Counseling and Career Development. Professionally, I firmly believe that every student has experienced success in their lives, and that success can be magnified socially, academically, and in their career designs. In my free time, I really enjoy listening to records, cooking, taking my dog Cooper for long walks, running, language learning, and all things Wisconsin Sports. I'm looking forward to a great year at EPHS. Go Bobcats!
Prepare yourselves for...
Bobcat Challenge!
The Counseling Department is thrilled to meet all the incoming new 9th grade Bobcats. Mark your calendars for Bobcat Challenge Day this upcoming September 6th from 8AM-12PM! Bobcat Challenge Day is a day for our ninth graders to participate in fun, team-building exercises through community partnership. The counseling department is also excited to help train our Bobcat leaders who will be leading the fun on the challenge day itself.
