Falcon Choir Update, 6th Grade
Please read very carefully!
Thank you!
As a follow-up from my last email: thank you for speaking with your students about their behavior in the choir classroom. We have seen several major improvements and a noticeably higher level of overall focus during rehearsal, despite Mrs. Mainer and I being sick . When everyone works together, our 6th grade classes sound GREAT. We look forward to having them in our JV and Varsity classes in upcoming years!

Students are instructed to practice their music at home. I've uploaded youtube recordings of all of our songs to our choir website.
Concert Day Schedule
Our 6th Grade Winter Concert is next week-- Tuesday, December 12th in the FAIRVIEW CAFETERIA. Students will be dismissed after school at regular time, but are required to be back on campus in their assigned seats onstage at 5:30pm. However, like our previous concert, the doors will not open until 6:15. The students will be rehearsing from 5:30-6:15 and we do not want to ruin the magic that happens behind the scenes. Please plan accordingly. Carpools are a LOVELY thing! Once the concert is over (around 7:30), all students are dismissed. Please plan accordingly.
Bus riders (and students without rides)
We encourage all singers to GO HOME at regular dismissal and then COME BACK at 5:30 so they can get a snack and get some homework done. I understand some bus riders will not be able to go home and come back. If this is the case, please try to find a car pool. In special cases, we will allow students to stay after school with us. Please send me an email (and a FJH Choir Permission Slip if you have not already done so) if you cannot find a ride for your student. The cafeteria will provide meals for students at 4:05, but we have to give them a head-count.
Concert Grading
Just as our last concert, your student will receive one major grade for concert etiquette, one major grade for punctuality/uniform, and one major grade for concert performance. Please speak with your student about how their behavior affects their grade.
Concert Attire for Students
Attire for girls: a nice red shirt, dark un-ripped jeans, closed-toe dark shoes. No heels.
Attire for boys: a nice green, jeans, dark un-ripped closed-toe dark shoes. (Also no heels)
**no Santa hats, headwear, scarves, jewelry
With Harvey, we did not require students to purchase any type of uniform for this concert. If you have any red or green shirts to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. I said white shirts were an option in my last email, but let's try to avoid that.
For all other inquiries, please refer to our handbook on our choir website (information below). Thank you and we hope to see you all very soon!
