The Importance of Attendance @ QT
The staff at Quarry Trail Elementary School are excited to welcome you to a new school year filled with opportunities to learn and engage! We are looking forward to seeing all of you this coming school year.
Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Building this habit at the beginning of the school year has a huge impact on student success. We realize some absences are for health or other reasons. But, when students are absent 2 or more days a month (or 18 days over the school year) they can fall far behind in what they learn. Excused and unexcused absences both mean missing classroom learning time. Let’s work together to increase attendance rates at our school to ensure all of our students are on the right path for success.
Some Attendance Tips:
Make sure your students keep a regular bedtime and establish a morning routine.
Turn off all electronics including TVs, phones and tablets at bedtime.
Make sure clothes and pack backpacks are ready the night before.
Check with our school nurse or office staff if you are not sure about when to keep your child at home due to illness.
Avoid scheduling vacations or doctor’s appointments when school is in session.
Talk to teachers and counselors for advice if your student feels anxious about going to school.
Request a Short Term Independent Study contract if your child will be absent for 3 or more days, this will allow your child to keep up with their academics while they are away. Additionally, based on completion of work, your child will be considered in attendance.
Develop back up plans for getting to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, neighbor, or another parent to take your student to school.

Please let us know how we can best support you and your student so that they can show up for school on time every day.
Reporting Absences/Independence Study
Will your student miss school for 3 or more days? If so, they may qualify for Independent Study. Please contact your teacher two weeks in advance to qualify. Stop in the office with questions.
Quarry Trail PTC Annual Fund Drive!
Welcome to the 22/23 Quarry Trail Parent Teacher Club (PTC) Annual Fund Drive!
Your student’s PTC helps enrich the educational content and community of the school by helping to fund school community events, classroom supplies, additional education content not provided by public funding, and our school’s needs. With your support, we will build a strong foundation for this year and many years to come.
Quarry Trail Parent Teacher Club is excited to launch a comprehensive way to communicate using a new digital platform called FutureFund. FutureFund is an all-in-one platform that helps parents register students for PTC-sponsored school programs, raise funds, manage directories, purchase spirit wear, manage fundraisers, sign up for event notifications, access the school directory, and much more.
Using the link below, please register your child for PTC purposes. We encourage you to do this at your earliest convenience to remain on the PTC email list and ensure seamless communication. Please note that you will need to register each student in your family.

You will also see suggested levels of support for the PTC that includes special Bronco gear. The first 100 families to become a sponsor member will be able to pick up gear at the Welcome Picnic on August 6th. In addition to the sponsorship levels, you can preorder additional shirts for parents or other family members. AND there is one more thing you won’t want to miss! The Quarry Trail campus will be building a school garden and you can purchase a customized brick for your family that will be forever part of the pathway in the garden.
Registration Steps:
1. Register Parent(s)
2. Select Sponsor Membership for each student (if applicable)
3. Add T shirt selection and size to cart (included in some sponsor memberships)
4. Check out to finalize order (pick up may be available at Welcome Picnic or delivered to your student in class)
This Kick-Off Fund Drive is the major fundraising opportunity to ensure we start strong. We thank you in advance for the support you are able to provide. ALL Donations are tax-deductible, and no gift is too small! The Fund Drive will run through the end of September.
Enjoy the rest of summer as the school year is fast approaching. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 6th at the Welcome Picnic! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Dale at qtfundraising@gmail.com
