MOMS Club® of Buckingham North
August 2016 Minutes for Moms
Message from the President
Happy August! This month always feels a bit bittersweet to me. On one hand, August is chock full of summery feelings - we're still enjoying ice cream, swimming, beach days, and vacations, but school days and autumn are not far away. The summer no longer stretches out long ahead of us.
We've had a tough summer in so many ways - there's been so much heartbreaking violence in the U.S. and abroad. And political campaigning always seem to bring out a lot of negativity. Tough times can throw all of the good parts of our lives into relief, though. We can and should celebrate both the special occasions and everyday moments with our children, families, and friends. Maybe you're bringing your baby to the beach for the first time and watching him crawl across the sand (and recording a really long video, of course). Maybe you love recreating some of your favorite childhood summer memories with your own children. Perhaps you're looking forward to an annual summer BBQ party. I love taking my daughter swimming and watching her get more comfortable and playful in the water with each pool visit. Or maybe you're just plain old happy that school is starting up again soon (nothing wrong with that, friends).
However your summer is going so far, I hope you are enjoying the season you are in and the stages that your children are going through right now. I hope you can slow down a bit during August before the excitement and bustle of the autumn begins. And I hope to see you all soon!
-Stephanie
