A Message from the WSD Administration

Hodgepodge of Items

by John Terko, Allen Brook School Principal

On Wednesday, February 10, the K-2 students completed their Artist in Resident project with a Lantern Parade. The students had been creating their own lanterns for eight days. Artist Gowri Savoor of Barre, along with Art teacher Sara Beeken, worked diligently class by class creating these beautiful lanterns. We had parent volunteers getting their hands covered in glue as they assisted each class that came to the Art room. Many thanks to the FAP and all of our parent volunteers that helped make this a success. The classes started to assemble around 4:30 and prepare to form the parade. Once outside, two students from CVU played marching drums and led the parade down the bike path towards Talcott Road. We circled back into the entrance with help from two Williston police officers, and entered the courtyard for hot chocolate, cookies, and music from our own Mr. Bolger. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful eight days. Thank you to all the parents and staff who came and celebrated the creative work of our students. I can’t remember when I have seen that many people at school at one time. Read more
