Summary
Building the bridge between Brazil and French Guiana is supposed to bring economic development to Amapá, Brazil. The idea of building the bridge was put out in 1997 by the president of France and the president of Brazil. The bridge was actually built in 2011 but they have not opened the bridge to people to drive on because the 2 countries are not getting along. The bridge was a total cost of $33 million. Brazil and France decided to split the cost of building the bridge.
Significance
The Bridge will bring better opportunities to French and Brazilian companies.
