FHS RISE Weekly Update
Week of Oct. 30
Below you will find the the weekly email from Mr. Lyons.
SUMMIT:
Reflecting upon what we’ve done is the best way to see what we need to do next. Students struggle with reflecting and shifting their behavior to get a different outcome. This is one of the characteristics that we try to enforce for our FHS students. Parents can help by asking their students to reflect on how they studies, tested or progressed on their projects. Simply ask them if they met their goals. If they didn’t help them think about how to shift their study strategies to meet their goals next week. You can see the goals they set for themselves in Summit. If you need help logging into Summit to see them, let me know. Students need to be reminded, and hearing the same message from home as they do at school will help keep them on track.
ESS:
Students still have the option of attending ESS with the teachers that they need help from. They should check with their teachers and stay to get help. There is a bus on T, W & Th at 4:00 for those needing a ride home.
College Application Week:
This week is College Application Week. There are daily activities for Seniors around applying for College. (see attachment) Students will receive a ticket for each day/activity they participate to earn more chances to winning the chromebook.
Additionally, we will have a FASFA representative at FHS on Monday from 12-6:00 for families to complete the FASFA application. Call or email the FHS Counselor for the Seniors at jessica.harley@frankfort.kyschools.us to set up a time to complete the FASFA.
