Have a Great Spring Break!
Math
In Math this week, we worked on subtraction up to 9. We used unifix cubes and ten-frames to help us show our thinking when working through a subtraction problem. The students were able to break “some” off of their cube-stick, or decompose it, and write a subtraction equation to match. For example, when we worked on subtraction up to 7, the kids had a 7-stick. They could break off 2 and show that 7-2=5. We found several ways to decompose each number. When using the ten-frame, we focused on noticing the 5-group within each number that we were decomposing.
The students are doing a great job completing their Math logs and turning them in. Please make sure to send the log daily, so that your child is getting credit for the practice completed at home. Keep practicing those Math skills! :)
