The Lion's Share
February 6, 2018
Message from the Principal:
We have many exciting things happening at Settler's Point in the coming weeks, so make sure to mark the following dates on your calendar.
Settler's Point will be hosting our annual Science Night on February 22 from 5:30-8:00. Many teachers have already signed up to host different booths that will have fun, hands-on science experiments. This will be a community event, so come out and bring a friend (even if they don't have a student that attends).
Our Student Council voted to fund a new fence in the small, dirt median in our east parking lot. This fence will direct all walkers towards our crosswalk near the front office. We are excited to help make Settler's Point an even safer place to be.
Our staff has been voting on a collection of various lion logos, as we look to ¨rebrand¨ our school by updating our logo. Once we determine two finalists, I will send the sketches to our graphic design partners, which will add Settler's Point colors and their own creative ideas. From there, we will have our student body vote on which logo will represent our school in the coming years on our new, electronic marquee that will be installed over the summer.
As always, it is my job to serve the community at Settler's Point, so if there is ever anything I can do to help support your student, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Safety Town
Our kindergarten, first and second grade students will spend 90 minutes in this "town" learning safety tips. These grades will be searching for volunteers to help out with this event. Look for a notice from your child's homeroom teacher in the coming days.
To accommodate a town in our cafeteria, we will be having an outdoor lunch.
