Week 1- Term 3- Thursday 15th July 2021
From the Principal's Desk…
Dear Parents and Carers,
Hello everyone,
Welcome back, I hope you had a relaxing holiday.
Special Assembly:
On Friday (tomorrow) we will be holding a special assembly at 2:30pm in the gym for our choir to perform. They are very excited and have been practicing with Penny Mentiplay. Parents of our choir members are invited to attend to watch the performance. It is being held early to allow choir members who are also bus travellers time to perform.
Interviews:
We will be holding parent teacher interviews this term in week four. Interviews of ten minutes will be held on Tuesday 3rd August from 2pm in the afternoon. All classes except for P/1B will be held on this night, Sharyn Borg will be in contact with her families to make an alternate time. This is a great opportunity to touch base with your child’s/children’s teacher/teachers to follow up from their semester one report. It can be an opportunity to discuss their learning goals and what you can do at home to assist them. Please when you get notification via dojo book a time to see the teachers.
Production:
This term there was to be a whole school production. However, staff have decided not to hold a production this year due to the density restrictions which are a legacy of COVID. We would not be able to have full capacity audiences at the Memo Hall and therefore not all of our families would be able to see their students perform. We have decided to hold a Christmas Concert instead at the end of term four when we can be outside. There will be further information regarding this closer to the date.
Science Night:
Science week is also this term and we have decided to run a Science Night here at school. This is a great opportunity to come to the school, see the classrooms, learn about all of the great learning that is happening with our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) program and participate in some hands-on Science activities. We will be running a very similar format to our successful Maths night in term two.
Science night will be held on Wednesday 18th August and will run from 6pm to 7:30pm. Further information will be coming via dojo and our facebook page shortly. Please make sure you save the date in your calendar.
Take care.
