Below you will find all the details for our quickly approaching practicum. Schedules, checklists, reminders... We hope it will help your preparation for practicum go more smoothly. PLEASE read the WHOLE thing so you have all the information you need.

We would greatly appreciate your prayers as many people work to get the final details ironed out.

Welcome to "Navigating History" - Parent Practicum 2016!


Sign up to serve our practicum staff by contributing to a potluck style lunch. Please consider participating in this hospitality meal for those who will be serving you and your children during these three days. You can sign up using this link: http://www.perfectpotluck.com/ The name is Melissa and the password is 7740.


Monday 8:30 AM

  • Follow the signs to the registration area. Find the correct table.
  • Turn in the Risk Release Waiver if you are bringing children
  • Receive name tags & paperwork (lanyards will be returned on Friday)
  • There will be teens to help you find your way to the correct camp locations.

Tuesday and Wednesday 8:30 AM

  • Check your children directly into their camps when you arrive - go enjoy the morning!

Daily Schedule

8:30 a.m. Registration begins/Bookstore open/Kids camps open for drop off

9:00 a.m. General training session begins/Student camps begin

12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch hour/Bookstore open at 12:15

  • (**Parents are responsible for their children during this hour**)

1:00-4:00 p.m. Parent training/Tutor training/Student camps

4:00-4:45 p.m. Bookstore open

We will be taking an offering to show our appreciation for the use of the church facilities.

What to Bring Checklist

__ Risk-Release Waiver - print, fill out, and bring with you

__ Lunch

__ Blanket to sit outside


__ Clipboard, folder or binder

__ Writing paper & pen for taking notes

__ A snack & drink

__ Donation for the church if you desire

__ Academic Orientation materials (if a tutor/director)


__ Any baby items needed in a marked bag

__ A bottle/cup with name clearly marked


__ A snack for morning and for afternoon

__ A water bottle with name clearly marked


__ 2 pencils

__ 2 good erasers

__ A ruler or straight edge

__ A snack & drink for morning and afternoon


__ Students will need "PRESCRIPTS® CURSIVE SENTENCES AND ART LESSONS: MEDIEVAL TO MODERN WORLD HISTORY" book. It will be available to purchase on the first day of Practicum from the bookstore. *

__ Pen/Pencil

__ Lined Paper

__ A snack & drink for morning and afternoon

* You can purchase the book outright on Monday morning. You can also pay by check or cash, and the Bookstore Representative will hold your payment, and allow you to pay for the book with the rest of your order later in the week (allowing you to take advantage of bulk purchase discounts.)


Please do not bring any food item that contains peanuts. We have campers with severe peanut allergies so there will be NO PEANUTS allowed on campus.

Pack a picnic lunch!

There is grassy space for you to eat with your children.

** Pick up your children from camp immediately when the AM session is over.

** Parents are responsible to supervise their children during lunch.

** Please pick up all trash to leave the facility as nice as we found it.

Dad's Luncheon - Tuesday 11:30-12:45

Bring a sack lunch and enjoy some fellowship with other dads, led by Mr. Wilson Hu.

Are you contracted to attend a Program Academic Orientation?

In order to attend training, you must:

1. Have signed a contract and turned it into your director.

2. Print and sign this document and BRING IT WITH YOU to training. The trainers will collect it from you when you arrive.

You will receive a confirmation email and attached materials from your trainer by Friday, June 24th. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact Laura Vaughns.
