This is a leadership seminar for high school and college students alike through TRiO programs across the state. Meet Nateya!

Hello, my name is Nateya Moore. I am super excited to begin my new role as Coordinator for Program Services for TRiO FESP and meeting you all!

A little about me:

I graduated from Baker College of Muskegon with a Bachelor of Human Service and earned a Master of Arts in Counselor Education with a concentration in College Counseling from Western Michigan University. Go Broncos!

I have also been granted the professioanl credential as a National Certified Counselor by NBCC. Previously, I have worked as an Academic Advisor in both the College of Education and Human Development and before that at Baker College of Muskegon. In addition to many other roles that involve working directly with students because I'm very passionate about assisting college students in obtaining educational success.

I also love music! There is something that I like in almost all genres of music (old and new school). Some of my favorite music artists are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Prince, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Trevor Jackson, Jacob Latimore, Mario, Khalid, Janelle Monae, and Kendrick Lamar. So when you see me come say hello, tell me how your semester is going and let me know what music you're currently listening to. You just may help me discover my new fav song!

TRiO Day Highlights

On February 23rd, TRiO Participants from TRiO FESP, TRiO SSP, Gear Up and TRiO Upward Bound all gathered together for a breakfast to celebrate TRiO and what TRiO does. The keynote speaker for the day was Liliana Salas, a TRiO Alum. Some very influential individuals in attendance like, Kalamazoo mayor Bobby Hopewell, Senator Sean McCann, State Representative Jon Hoadley, Associate Provost Paulo Zagalo Melo and Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion Candy McCorkle. After the wonderful breakfast, TRiO FESP students came back to the office to write letters to politicians in Washington D.C. to discuss funding and how much TRiO means to them. Myia and Harmony will take these when they head to the Policy Seminar in late March. Letters were also written to children in Bronson Children's Hospital.
