Bus Safety
On Friday afternoon bus drivers reminded students about some safety procedures that bus drivers use when students cross the road. The safety procedures that are being reviewed include hand signals that the drivers use to tell students when it is safe to cross the road. Please go to NC School Bus Safety Website for more information.

Trexler Middle School Speech Competition
This week, we held our Modern Woodman School Speech Contest. We heard 14 great speeches about “What is a Hero.” As speeches were heard, we learned that heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and are not always those flying around in capes. Heroes can be people you are in contact with on a daily basis, or even those people sitting right next to you!
Representing their grade levels for the contest were:
6th Grade:
Claire Marriott
Makena Johnson
Makaylen Fites
Mackenzie Schmitt
7th Grade:
Caroline Cubas
Serenity Hernandez
Seth Merritt
Lily Meracle
Jayln Rader
8th Grade:
Chlo’E Rosa
Livvie Bailey
Bailey Brown
Makayla Selby
Taylor Simco
Everyone did a fantastic job, and made the decision very difficult for the judges. Congratulations goes to Livvie Bailey 3rd place, Makayla Selby 2nd place, and Jalyn Rader 1st place. Makayla and Jalyn will continue to level 2 and represent Trexler Middle School on April 27. Good luck girls.
